Independent, not official
Plainspoken Tech is an independent publisher. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple, Google, Samsung, Microsoft, OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, Amazon or any other company whose products we write about.
We name products only to explain what our guides work with. Our books about Apple and Android devices are independent publications and have not been authorized, sponsored or otherwise approved by Apple Inc., Google LLC or Samsung Electronics.
Trademarks
iPhone, iPad, iOS, iPadOS, FaceTime, Siri and Apple are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries and regions. Android, Google, Google Pixel and Gemini are trademarks of Google LLC. Samsung and Galaxy are trademarks of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. ChatGPT is a trademark of OpenAI. Claude is a trademark of Anthropic. Microsoft and Copilot are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies. Kindle and Amazon are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. All other trademarks belong to their owners.
How we make money
We earn money when people buy our own books, which are sold on Amazon. We don’t sell advertising on this website, we don’t accept payment to review or recommend products, and no company has paid for any article.
We don’t currently use affiliate links. If that changes, we’ll say so clearly on this page and next to the links.
General information only
Our books, articles and free kit give general information about using technology and staying safe online. They aren’t legal, financial, medical or professional IT advice. For money, health or legal decisions, speak to a qualified professional. Where we mention health or money features, such as Medical ID or banking apps, we explain how the feature works, not what’s right for you.
If you think you’ve been scammed: contact your bank straight away using the number on your card or statement, then report it. See where to report a scam.
Steps can change
Apple, Google, Samsung and the AI companies update their software often. Menus move and names change. We check our guides against official sources and update them, but what you see on your screen may differ slightly. Our guides say so where it’s likely.
How we use AI tools
We use AI tools to help with research and first drafts. A person reviews, edits and checks every book and article before it’s published, and we take responsibility for everything we publish. See how we write and check our guides.
Pen name
Graham Tulley is the pen name used for the Plainspoken Tech for Seniors series. The books are published by Plainspoken Tech Pty Ltd.
Links to other websites
We link to official help pages, government agencies and other useful websites. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content.
